B.A Honors

The Academic programme of B.A (Hons) was first started in 1987 and a total of five (5) students were enrolled. However with the passage of time and further enhancement of the said programme, the number of students have been increasing with each passing year. A total eight hundred and eighteen (818) graduates have already obtained their B.A (Hons) degrees from the parent University and are contributing towards national development in different fields (see annexure-1). Currently a total of 313 students have been enrolled, 113 in first semester, 110 students in third semester while 90 students are in fifth semester.

Eligibility

A candidate for addmission to this program must have passed intermediate or its equivalent examination with at least 2nd Division/Grade C. The candidate's age in no case should exceed 22 years.

Student Seats

The seats for addmission to the 1st Semester are fixed at 60 as decided by the Board of Governers (BOG). The allocation is as follows:

  1. 53 seats for the students of Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa
  2. 1 seat for Northern Areas
  3. 6 seats for the students from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and the Fedral capital. (The students for these seats will be selected on the basis of merit among them).
  4. 70 seats will be filled on the basis of self-finance. The students inducted under this scheme will be charged Rs. 11,000/- per semester as decided by the Board of Governers (BOG).

Admission Procedure for BA Honors

Aplication Form: The application for admission will be received on precribed Application form (including in the prospectus) to be obtained from the office of the Shaykh Zayed Islamic Centre on payment of Rs.600/-.

Written Test: Students applying for admission are required to pass a Written Test, comprising of Isalmic Studies, and English as per the standard and Mathematics as per Secondary level.

Interview: The students who pass the Written test have to undergo an interview.

Final Selection: The final selection of candidates will be made on the basis of merit including marks in the written test, interview and candidate's academic documents.

Accomodation: Hostel facility is available.

Duration of Course: The B.A Honours course at the Islamic Centre extends over a minimum of six semeseters/three years.

Sailient Rules and Regualtions of Shaykh Zayed Islamic Centre

  1. Political activities of any kind will not be allowed in light of the verdict of the supereme Court of Pakistan.
  2. If a student on the role of the centre remains absent from classes for two weeks continiously without specific reason or prior permission of the Director,he/she shal be liable to be struck off the roll of the Centre.His/her re-admission case may however be considerd by the Admission Committee.
  3. If a candidate fails to enroll himself in the subsequent semester within 10 days after the commencement of the next semester,his/her admission shall stand cancelled.
  4. A student who fails in more than 50% of the courses in any semester shall be removed from the roll of the centre. However,a student who fails in less than 50% courses will be offered either of the following two option:
    • To avail a chance of a make-up test and in case of failure,repeat the entire set of courses of that semester. In this case the student will be allowed to retain his/her admission.
    • To avail two chances of make-up test.In case of failure even in the second one the student will loose his/her admission in the centre
  5. A student with less than 75% attendence in total shall not be allowed to take the final examination and his/her name shall be removed from the role. Hower,a student who obtain less than 60% attendence in any course will be given an opportunity to repeat that course. student struck off the above reason shall not be entilled for the refunt of fees deposited by him/her at the time of admission.
